Dave’s career has taken him from the public, private and now charitable sector, always in roles that sought to improve the lives of local people and the places in which they live.
With over 15 years’ experience as and, adviser on, and leader of behaviour change programmes, he has a detailed understanding of how best to best to support people to realise their potential, lead more healthy lives and become assets to their communities.
Dave was instrumental in the establishment of the Recovery Works charity and, along with our Board and highly experienced team of staff around the North of England, plans to bring our unique combined offer of integrated healthy lifestyle and employment support to ever more beneficiaries.
When not in work Dave can be found running the fells of the Lake District and doing what he can to raise awareness of, and challenging myths that surround, mental ill health, in particular Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
Mark has occupied the role of Employment Advisor for approximately twelve years, providing information, advice and guidance for disadvantaged individuals encountering a broad range of barriers including criminality, homelessness and substance misuse. Prior to this he worked as a Community Service / Unpaid Work Supervisor for Merseyside Probation Service.
He's worked for the Growth Company for three and a half years leading a team of ETC’s in partnership with CGL, providing quality assistance to Service Users in recovery from substance misuse in order to improve employability, encouraging and empowering development through opportunity.
Additional to spending time with his young family in his spare time Mark enjoys being active in the great outdoors, challenging himself whenever possible, most recently undertaking a week long solo hike in the Scottish Highlands.
I've just been promoted to Service Manager for our Lancashire and Manchester contracts but have been working type of role for about 8 years, first in Wigan then North Lancashire supporting people in Recovery to access training and employment opportunities.
Prior to this I worked for the DWP for 4 years in Jobcentres in Newton Heath and Wythenshawe!
I’ve just completed a Degree in Business Management (through the Growth Company) and we welcomed our daughter into the world in October last year so weekends? What are they? I'm still trying to get to the gym, go running or do some ridiculous obstacle race through 2 feet of mud when the opportunity arises though.
I have been a member of the Recovery Works team since 2010, specialising in the provision of employment, training and education services to the recovery community and helping those recovering from substance misuse issues to realise their aspirations. Before joining the Recovery Works team I have worked as a tutor and assessor, delivering training and working in prisons across the North West and South East of England, working with both prison staff and inmates.
In my spare time I like to lift heavy things! I compete at amateur level in strongman competitions and have previously been in several bands, playing gigs and touring across the UK.
Hello! I’m Katie and I am the Lead Employment and Training Consultant for Recovery Works, North and Central Lancashire.
I joined Recovery Works as an ETC in August 2015, covering our Lancaster and Morecambe sites and I have since progressed onto a lead position, currently working on the Inspire Lancashire contract. Prior to joining Recovery Works I worked for a leading welfare to work provider for 5 years, delivering the DWP’s Work Programme and before that, I spent over 15 years working in Hospitality and Hospitality Management.
When I’m not in work I generally spend my time chasing around after my one year old and trying to sleep, if he allows it. Functioning on 3-4 hours sleep per night has become something I’m highly skilled in of late!!
